There are four dining options on property and an espresso bar.
With 36 holes of golf, all with sweeping Pacific Ocean views, this is THE place for golfers to stay in the Newport area.
The bungalow rooms and suites are very generously sized (entry level rooms are 850 square feet!) and luxuriously appointed with beamed ceilings, soaking tubs and fireplaces, as well as terraces with ocean views.
My favorite thing about Pelican Hill is their gorgeous villas. Southern California is a popular vacation destination for families, yet villa rentals are not easy to find. These lovely homes with two, three or four bedrooms, range from 2,200 to 3,600 square feet, and are equipped with full gourmet kitchens.
Another pool is available exclusively for Villa guests.
The Resort at Pelican Hill sits on a hill overlooking the Pacific, just above Crystal Cove State Park. While the resort is not on the beach, they have a regular shuttle service to take you to the beach, as well as attendants to set you up with beach chairs and umbrellas.
Doesn’t Pelican Hill seem like an ideal family resort? Anyone else ready for a little California “endless summer”?

Oh how I long for the seashore…..and I just finished reading, GIFT FROM THE SEA. Well, Carmel, here we come in June. I would LOVE to take a coastal tour from Newport all the way up to San Francisco, but for now, I'll take the quaint cottage town to revisit our youth, 33 years ago. HAPPY DAY, SANDY! Anita

Entry level rooms are garden view, not ocean view.
The swimming pools are all lap pools only 3 1/2 feet deep.
There are no screen doors on any of the doors so bugs come in, spiders, flies, mosquitoes, etc. if you want fresh air in the rooms.
Doing thorough research is part of a good review. I'm fairly sure you'll erase my comment since it points out what you so clearly didn't pay attention to.

A few years ago we were lucky enough to stay at Pelican Hill for a corporate retreat for my husband's company. The rooms were gorgeous and amazing. One of the activities we signed up for was a cooking demonstration which took place in one of the villas. Truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed!

Looks so pretty – the rooms are gorgeous. I can't believe the winter you've had. My in laws are all in New England and I think they will be digging out well into spring! A little sunshine sounds so lovely right now. This looks like the perfect spot to escape!
Hope there is a little sun coming your way soon! XOXO

Although we have had a very mild winter in terms of temperatures, it's been very rainy and gray. I can' imagine having the continuous cold, snowy weather you've had : Looking at the pictures makes me cold! There is nothing like a little CA sunshine to warm you up and this resort looks fabulous! Newport is a gorgeous spot ~ love all those coastal spots:) Enjoy your day! xxL

Pelican Hill is very lovely. One thing to consider, though, is that the cold coastal fog lies over this area often, particularly in the morning, and particularly in June ("June gloom")….before you spend the $$$$$, check out the (past years) weather for the time of the year you plan to spend there if you are spending your own money and not being comped or treated by a corporate entity.
