I am knee deep in planning trips for clients – the Caribbean for spring break, a mother daughter Paris trip, a fabulous British garden tour and countless Italy trips…it is amazing how planning trips for other people makes me want to pack my suitcase and just GO! The next best thing is reminiscing about past travels and today I can’t stop thinking of my favorite city…Paris.
Who wants to stroll down memory lane with me?

My favorite vantage point of Notre Dame…the gorgeous little garden in the back. |
When
we were planning our trip to Greece, it just so happened that we were
able to score a great deal for flights on Air France…the only “hitch”
was that we had to stop over in Paris. In the category of “as long as we
are there”, we decided, why not spend a few days in Paris?

My
sister-in-law had not been to Paris since she was in high school, so I
played the role of tour guide. I showed her all of my favorite places
and I also discovered a few new favorites (including the Paris flea
market which I am posting about on Wednesday).

Since
there is no shortage of blogs dedicated specifically to Paris (I
read many of them myself), rather than telling you every little detail
of our trip, I am simply going to share a few of my favorite photos. I hope you enjoy them…

We
covered A LOT of ground in four days and we had the aching feet to show
for it! But, it was well worth the pain. I am already trying to figure
out when I can go back again.

Anyone want a personal tour guide?

I love Paris. I visited the Chapelle Royale for the first time during my last trip and it was so beautiful. It is like a hidden gem. Your photos are wonderful!

Oh Sandy, that vantage point of Notre Dame is the exact same spot that I saw when I emerged from LA BOUCHE DU METRO, my first time in Paris. I turned around, and there it was. It was a surreal moment. I literally felt like I was in a dream, to be able to see an icon image, myself, there in my beloved destination. OH thank you for this tour, and how wonderful that you have so many clients! YAY! Enjoy your Friday! Anita

Oh you are killing me here!! How I wish I was going TODAY. A friend just left a few days ago for two weeks, (so jealous) to see her daughter who is studying abroad ( or at least that is the excuse she used lol) Your pictures are amazing, coffee table book worthy!
I think so many of us consider Paris as the ultimate city, romantic, beautiful, filled with history and culture, great food, a beautiful language…..and iconic in more ways than I can count. You captured some of my favorite spots to visit….but I have to say sitting outside at a charming litlte cafe people watching on a beautiful spring afternoon is the absolute best (of course while indulging in a sweet something and a coffee in hand)
Cheers to Paris!

Great pics, Sandy. Looks like a fabulous trip. Hope you don't get much snow this weekend!

Sandy, you and I are so on the same page. I've had Paris on the brain all week (well, on the brain more than usual)… And, so exciting, I found a way to tack four days in Paris on to another trip that Mr. H. and I are taking in March! Can't wait. It all just came together this week. Your four days look absolutely wonderful, you certainly did cover a lot of ground. And to anyone even thinking of planning a trip to Paris or anywhere else, I would absolutely encourage them to give you a call – we've benefited so much through the years of working with my girlfriend who is also Virtuoso agent. I would never take a trip without a little help. And it's so clear how passionate you are about travel and creating amazing adventures.
Here's to Paris and to seeing the world!
Bonne weekend to you, too, my friend! XOXO

I never tire of visiting Paris or indeed seeing photos of this very special city which I first visited when I was just seven. Your photos are fabulous and the one which really caught my eye was the Louvre and that incredible light. Have a great weekend.

Between you and Jeanne, we'll be dreaming of Paris all weekend long. Planning trips for others must be hard this time of year when all you want to do is escape the snow and cold. Stay warm this weekend, Sandy!

That view of Notre Dame is breathtaking! And I recall that Saint Chapelle was one of our favorite spots in a city filled with magnificent sights to see. It breaks my heart that Parisians are in the midst of such a scary time right now. Your gorgeous pictures are a great reminder of just how special a place Paris is.
Can't wait to get started planning our trip to Spain with you!!
