Happy Birthday to one of my favorite hotels, The Kahala Hotel and Resort,
which is turning 50 today!
Throughout its long history, The Kahala has been host to world leaders, dignitaries and celebrities from Princess Diana to The Rolling Stones to every US President since LBJ.
It also had the distinct pleasure of hosting my husband and me on our honeymoon! A few years later, it was the site for a wonderfully memorable family vacation to Hawaii. My children will always happily reminisce about being presented with leis upon arrival and swimming with the dolphins on property.
The Kahala is located just outside of Honolulu, Hawaii. I love that you are close enough to drive to downtown Honolulu for dinner, but you don’t feel like you are staying in the middle of a big city when staying at The Kahala.
To celebrate their birthday, The Kahala has some great packages available throughout the year. Virtuoso amenities are upgrade based on availability, early check-in/late check-out, breakfast daily and a $100 resort credit.
Maybe 2014 is the year for you to visit this classic Hawaiian hotel!
I am off to Florida today (if my flight actually takes off after our latest snowstorm)…I will be back on Monday!

Hi there I look outside at the foot or so of snow, am freezing and wondering what the heck is keeping me from boarding a plane for Hawaii!!! Your post is like a teeny weeny getaway (virtually) and if I could go anywhere, Hawaii it would be! We have many fond memories from the Kahala brunch when we lived there we used to go for Sunday brunch often, it was like a family ritual:) Glad to see they are still going strong!!
Hoping you are getting to go today, fingers crossed!

What an amazing place for a honeymoon or vacation!!! Our family talks about a Hawaiian vacation….probably to celebrate a big event in the future. We would love to take our boys back to where we got engaged on the top of the 7 pools in Maui!
Hope you made your plane without issue and that you are reading this from sunny, warm Florida!

Warmer climes sound fabulous about now. Can't ever remember 0 degrees or less in my lifetime here in VA.
Hope you have a great weekend and bring us all back some sunshine! xo Nancy
