We were supposed to be headed to DC for the weekend until the forecast called for this…
It
is so disappointing to have to cancel our trip. I love going to DC – it
is one of my favorite cities. We always love our weekends visiting
Caroline and were excited to see her new apartment – but we have
rescheduled our trip for a few weeks from now.

My thoughts will be with everyone along the path of this supposed historic winter storm. It looks like those of us in the tri-state area will be spared the brunt of it (IF you call 8-12 inches being “spared”).
For everyone riding out the storm, stay warm, be careful and stay off the roads! This is the perfect weekend for relaxing with a good book or binge watching your favorite series Netflix series. For everyone else, have a wonderful weekend…wherever you may be wandering…

Sandy good call to cancel…sounds like they will get blasted with this head on. I am personally excited to get our first real snow..and am bracing myself for the panic stricken shoppers at the market later, they always crack me up. As you know, we too were supposed to go away but decided to stay put,it's not worth driving in. So, its a book, comfort food and movie weekend for us and I am happy as a clam:) Stay warm and safe!

Sandy… sorry you can't go to DC. We were tentatively thinking of heading to NYC but cancelled at the beginning of the week. Stay warm.

I'm sure your trip to DC another time will be so much more convenient Sandy. We're going there for a short 3 days visit this Spring Break!

Im sorry that you had to cancel your trip, DC is a beautiful and wonderful place at most times. But never when there is more than an inch of snow!
I hope that you did not get too much snow and that you were able to relax and rest. How is your arm by the way?

My sister-n-law and nephew who live in DC were to join us in Disney World. She saw the storm coming and hopped on the last Amtrak out of town before the storm. An 18 hour train ride later they arrived in Orlando. The best part? Sister-in-law didn't have to feel any guilt about pulling her son out of school for the trip since classes were cancelled for the entire week!
