As I mentioned in an earlier post about my time at Virtuoso Travel Week, I met with over 300 luxury travel suppliers.  There were several that really stood out and made a strong impression on me, which is saying a lot because nearly every Virtuoso property offers something spectacular or they wouldn’t be chosen to be part of the Virtuoso portfolio.  Over the next few weeks, I am excited to feature a few of my personal favorite hotels that were either new discoveries to me this year OR offers something unique and different of which I was previously not aware.

The first property I am featuring is The Farmhouse Inn – a “new to me” boutique property in Sonoma County, California.  I had the pleasure of meeting with Joe and Catherine Bartolomei, the brother/sister duo who own and run the property.  Their passion for their Inn is clearly evident when meeting them, and they are definitely doing something right because The Farmhouse Inn was named recently named Best Resort Hotel In California and 12th Best Hotel in the World  by Travel & Leisure. They also won one of the big awards at Virtuoso Travel Week  – for “Best Culinary Experience”.  Sooo….without further ado, I present to you, the award winning Farmhouse Inn…
