Happy Friday! If you are curious why the blog looks different, I have finally migrated to Word Press and I am in the process of redesigning the blog – it is about time for a refresh after nearly four years with no change at all. I have a lot of learning to do (it doesn’t help that I also got a new computer this week and also am adjusting to that) so bear with me while I learn the new platform…if anyone has any pointers on Word Press feel free to share. Stay tuned for the new look!
What is everyone up to this weekend? My weekend is starting early today when I head to nearby Rye, New York to meet up with a group of blog friends and watch my dear friend, Jeanne McKay Hartmann, paint some of her incredibly gorgeous watercolors LIVE at Nest Inspired Home. If you live in the area DO stop by and join the fun! Jeanne will be painting from 1:00 to 5:00pm. The event is the brain child of one of my favorite bloggers and friend, Elizabeth, from Pretty Pink Tulips…she can make anything happen and this event is sure to be a hit!
(thank you for the photos, Elizabeth and Jeanne – via)
Beyond good friends, beautiful art and perhaps a glass or two of bubbly, here is what is on my radar screen for today…
Tina from The Enchanted Home features Southern hospitality in Nashville…
Karolyn of The Relished Roost showcases some incredible art made from maps…
Make sure you get to the airport early if you are traveling this summer – these lines are down right scary…
You won’t find these luxe vacation rentals on AirBnB…
These European hotels feel like home (or even better)…
Where to find the best restaurant dishes in America…
How to tackle jet lag like a pro…
What is exciting you this weekend? Whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy every minute…wherever you may be wandering…
xoxo

Sandy,
Change is good but it usually comes with growing pains or “breaking them in” as my Father would say when we had new back to school shoes to break in with wear and over time they would become comfy. I changed a few years ago from blogger to word press and if you ever need any help or hand holding – I am happy to help.
Love all your posts and all you share. You always make me want to fly away…..

Congrats on the move to wordpress, Sandy! I’m guessing you are on a self-hosted site with wordpress.org. There is definitely a learning curve to it, but so many more options. I made the move about 2 years ago and I’m glad I did! I bought a new laptop last week, too. Even getting that all set up has been time consuming.
My best advice with WP back up regularly. 🙂
The event you attended sounds like SO much fun!
xx, Heather

I LOVE it….you did it! Congrats, it is looking really good and change is great, it’s important to stay fresh and constantly be open to change and evolve…..I am STILL learning but know the most basics so just let me know if you have any questions, but again I know the very basics:)
Thanks for including my trip in your roundup….I again was SO sorry I had to miss the fun on Friday…I was there in spirit with bells on (not my pjs) lol. Hope you have a wonderful day despite the dreariness and rain.

I love your new look, Sandy . Now I know why you’re always so busy – learning Windows 10 and Word Press in one week!!! The pictures today are just beautiful and make me want to travel more than ever – but I’ll be happy just to go to Greenwich to see you and your family. Love, Mom
