As I sat down to write the post for today and I realized what day it was, I knew that writing about my recent vacation would have to wait for another day…I just couldn’t do it today. Of any day during the year, September 11th is the most somber for me. Even though I live in a Connecticut suburb nearly 30 miles from the center of Manhattan, I consider New York my home. Twelve years later, I still feel the pain of that day as if it was yesterday.

It does give me solace, however, to see this gorgeous building gracing the skyline of the city…

An amazing city…no where else in the world like it and we are stronger than ever. Wishing you a wonderful day Sandy.
It's amazing that that day is still so vivid in my mind – such a fitting post for today, Sandy…
A lovely sensitive post, Sandy…a stunning building to grace the New York skylines.

Today is always a hard day.
oh yes….what a day….I saw the second airplane strike….I was at NYU….I remember everything so vividly….I was really taken aback by the kindness of New Yorkers that day and the weeks after….
I remember exactly where I was when I heard the terrible news. Great tribute, Sandy.
That day is etched on
my heart like no other.
Thank you for posting

Sandy, I was thinking yesterday morning about where I was and what I was doing on September 11th. I was home, watching the Today show and from the moment they mentioned a "small" plane had possibly hit one of the towers I knew something was wrong. I did not turn off the TV except to sleep(barely) for weeks. I was saddened for those who lots their lives, their families, the country, the survivors and frankly everyone. Life as we knew it had changed.
