Sometimes life just doesn’t go as planned…
On July 16th I booked my trip to Ireland. On July 17th, I fractured my humerus. For the past 11 weeks I have worked towards the goal of leaving for Ireland next Friday. In the past week, it has become quite clear that a trip of that magnitude is NOT in the cards for me right now. It was with great disappointment that I had to cancel my plans.
Ireland will still be there next year…hopefully, I can join Tourism Ireland for their 2016 trip.
Wishing all of you a lovely weekend…wherever you may be wandering…
xoxo

Oh, Sandy. I am so sad for you. I planned a trip to Italy. Three of us who lost our husband in the last 4 years, and one additional friend. The first time we had traveled since our loss. It was a big deal. Two weeks before the trip, I injured my groin while working out my dog…. ahhhhh! I did what I could, rested, packed medicine, and off I went. I am paying for it now. Jet lag and leg pain, but it was an amazing trip!
Ireland is on our list….

Such a bummer but i have a feeling its for the best,if something happened to your arm you wouldn't want to be that far from home..besides you will want full capacity of all your limbs to take in all that there is to do! Something to look forward to:) Hope you are feeling better every day..I know its such a disappointment when you need to cancel something you were so looking forward to. Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

oh Sandy, I am so sorry. What a set back, but you will be back out there, this just gives you more time to do more research on all of the other fabulous places you want to go to, right??? xo, ebh

I am so late…..so late. But dear dear Sandy, I pray your healing will bring new opportunities and yes, sometimes our plans just FLOP! I KNOW! But you know that this always means that the right timing comes in just at, well, THE RIGHT TIME! May your next opportunity be just the right time for you. HEAL UP!

So sorry that you're missing your trip, Sandy. As I always tell me girls… everything happens for a reason. Never mind – it didn't help my girls to feel better, either. Stay dry this weekend.

Sandy,
I am so sorry that you had to cancel your trip! I know how you were looking forward to it. I second Katie, everything happens for a reason.
I hope that you stay safe in the storm!

Oh Sandy, what a bummer! I've been thinking about you and hoping that your would make a miraculous leap forward in your healing and be able to go. As you said, Ireland will still be there. In the meantime, I love seeing you pop up in my inbox much more frequently now. Progress!!

Sandy, I too am saddened to hear you won't make the trip but agree with those above who mentioned that:
a) Ireland will be there next yr
b) Things happen for a reason
c) You really need to be at 100% to truly enjoy the trip
BTW-I smiled when I saw your cartoon at the top of the post. My life is indeed the reality shot. ๐
