Two of my favorite ways to spend time when I travel is to visit museums filled with amazing art and to stroll through stunning gardens…it is even better when you can enjoy both at the same time.
Here are a few world class museums with equally extraordinary gardens:

Visiting Winterthur Museum and Gardens in Delaware is one of my favorite day trips. I love the period rooms filled with antiques collected by Henry Francis DuPont. The gardens are equally gorgeous, especially during azalea season.

The medieval collections surrounded by peaceful gardens at the Metropolitan Museum’s Cloisters overlooking the Hudson River in the Bronx are a haven of tranquility in the city.

The Huntington Library, Art Collection and Botanical Garden in San Marino, California combines acres of lovely gardens and an excellent collection of fine art.

At the Getty Center in LA, stunning architecture, sculptural landscape design and an impressive fine art collection are all found in one stunning setting overlooking the Pacific.

The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Coconut Grove, Florida juxtaposes seventy rooms of distinctive architectural interiors decorated with numerous antiques with ten acre classic Italian renaissance garden and forty acres of native jungle forest.

One of my favorites spots in Paris is the Musée Rodin…the garden itself is the setting for many Rodin’s masterpieces surrounded by beautiful flowers and landscapes. Inside the
Hôtel Biron, where Rodin lived and worked, there are more of his works and other special exhibits.

The Vatican Museums house arguably the finest collection of art in the world, but many of the nearly 6 million visitors miss the spectacular gardens which can only be seen by special arrangements.
The weather has been SO beautiful lately…absolutely perfect for wandering through gardens and soaking up a little culture!! Have a lovely week, my friends!!

With this gorgeous weather, we'd love to be outside! What a wonderful round up you've given us. The Musee Rodin is one of our favorites and we had the good fortune of seeing Winterthur in May with all the beautiful azaleas in bloom.

Oh, the Huntington Library, a blast from my past. I was there as a child and never forgot it, but never went back. OH THE BEAUTY you share, Sandy! I am sorry to be late…the same old story: SCHOOL is keeping me spinning my wheels that I can't even hear myself think…..
Enjoy a lovely day and I hope you are well?

All so beautiful!!! I also love when, in addition to beautiful art and gardens, the building itself is a work of art like the Getty Center. Have a great week!

I'm so appreciating the visual feast here today, Sandy. Of course I always seem to find something beautiful here at your blog. 🙂 The Getty and the Huntington are two of my favorites from my days living in Southern California. I'm off to pin some of these gorgeous images.
Stay warm and dry in the weather out your way! Thanks for joining our #stylefocus lifestyle linkup!
