As the world remembers fashion icon Oscar de la Renta, I thought it would be a good time to feature the stunning resort in Punta Cana, which he designed – Tortuga Bay. Nobody loved the Dominican Republic more than its native son, Oscar de la Renta…the two are practically synonymous. As a major investor in the development of Punta Cana, he also helped to restore the airport, where visitors of Tortuga Bay are afforded VIP treatment. I will miss him. It always breaks my heart to hear of the passing of a legend. His life gifts of timeless elegance, dignity and generosity will be difficult if not impossible to replace.

A sad day to hear of the passing of Oscar de la Renta…a gentleman in every sense of the word. Just love seeing the resort up close…and that airport! Oscar's elegant touch can be seen everywhere… even in his native country. Our mother stayed at this resort several years ago and was enchanted. He will be missed by so many!

I absolutely fell in love with the sugar sands of Dominican Republic a couple of summers ago. To see this resort and realize that even the airport had been inspired by this talented and elegant man is a gift. He was such a talent and will be missed.
