Happy Friday!!! The eyes of the world will be on the New York metropolitan area for the Super Bowl this Sunday. Luckily it seems that the weather will warm up a bit by game time, but I still can’t see the fun in paying thousands of dollars to sit outside in sub-zero temperatures to watch a football game (call me a wimp…I can handle it!). No doubt, my readers in Seattle and Denver may feel differently. Which team do you think will win?

Here are a few things pinging my radar screen this week…

Go here if you cannot view the video…
The new movie, Grace of Monaco is expected to premiere at Cannes in May…The scenery looks stunning and I think Nicole Kidman is perfectly cast – I can’t wait to see it!
Two books on my nightstand… Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan (author of Loving Frank) about the adventures and relationship between Robert Louis Stevenson and his wife, Fanny; and the latest by one of my favorite authors, Sue Monk Kidd, The Invention of Wings.
What are all of you up to this weekend? Will you be watching the Super Bowl? I will probably make a big pot of chili and watch the game mostly to see the ads. Does anyone else do that?
I wish you all a warm, toasty and fabulous weekend…wherever you may be wandering!
xoxo

And you Sandy….YOU ALWAYS take me away to new places that I need to explore, whether it's jumping on a plane somewhere or digging into a new book. THANK YOU, MY FRIEND! Anita

Good morning, Sandy!!! It seems like everyone has Super Bowl fever!!! I am a HUGE Peyton Manning fan, so by default will be rooting for the Broncos. I'd root for whichever team he played for.
If I was more brave, I'd take my boys to Herald Square for all the festivities…but I'm not! 🙂
We'll be celebrating a certain little boys 12th birthday and since he's been home sick for 2 days now, it will be a quiet weekend. Football for sure and though I've come to love watching the game I'm all about the ads, too!
Go BRONCOS!

I could not agree with you more, I would never pay to sit outside in sub zero temps.
I love these links! Thank you for the book suggestions!
As for the Grace of Monaco film I heard the release was postponed because the director is fighting with Harvey Weinstein, so we shall have to wait I bit I guess.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

We have been buried in snow for the past few days and are so excited to be going to a super bowl party to get out of the house a little. It's all finally melting…needing a new book for my nightstand – thanks for the recommendations!

Hi Sandy! What a fun picture of the Empire State building! The lilac entering that hotel is lovely and I can imagine the fragrance:) and I will look forward to seeing the movie.
Our community has come together in support of the Sea Hawks. Everywhere you go .. people are dressed in our colors. We are over-the-moon about playing this year and I'm so proud of our team for making it to this point.

As I write this, the game is over. I think we can all agree that the game was over after the first play. I have spent the entire weekend packing. We are down to the wire!
