As many of you know I am heading to Europe in less than two weeks with my sister-in-law. Ninety percent of the time I travel, it is with my husband and this upcoming trip is the first major trip I have taken without him since we have been married.
SO, when my husband requested we also take a vacation together to one of our favorite places, how could I possibly refuse??
While exploring the world and seeing new places is my passion, sometimes it is also nice to go to a place that simply feels like home. Just as some people return to Nantucket or the Hamptons every year, we enjoy going back to our old standby and favorite – the Ritz Carlton in Cancun. I have lost count, but I think this was our eleventh trip there, and as always we had a wonderful time.
When you only have a short time, sometimes it is nice to hit the ground running and have your daily routine down to a science. Our typical day down there rarely changes – we stay in the same oceanfront suite, indulge in the delicious buffet breakfast, lounge in a cabana on the beach drinking margaritas, swim in the clear blue Caribbean and go out in the evenings to enjoy some excellent Mexican food in our favorite restaurants. Very little mental or physical energy is required…it is truly the perfect “relaxation vacation”!

and I have also taken some great
trips with my best friend, who
lives in Chicago. There is something
special about exploring a new
place with a girlfriend who you
don't see often…..It creates some
really wonderful memories.

how wonderful!! I have stayed there..its lovely! You where I love going lately..the banyan tre in Mayakoba…its just 35 min from Cancun airport. ore South of Cancun and like 10 min from Playa del Carmen….its heaven!
I love to travel to new places but I agree with you that it is sometimes so relaxing and easy to visit a favourite place where everything is familiar and to your liking. This looks like the perfect place to unwind. We have enjoyed the benefits of the Ritz Carlton and I love their attention to detail. I'm sure we would enjoy this one too!
