With the conclave to select the new Pope beginning tomorrow at the Vatican, wouldn’t it be fun to be in Rome this week for all the excitement?
Andiamo!
The above picture was taken by my daughter while she was studying abroad in Rome…she calls it “Rome through a glass of wine” and it was taken from atop the Aventine hill overlooking the city and the Vatican. Hopefully, it will whet your appetite for the upcoming week filled with all things Rome…
Tomorrow, I will tell you about some of my favorite hotels and restaurants, in order to experience “la dolce vita” (the sweet life) in Italy’s capital city.
On Wednesday Wanderlust, I will be sharing my idea of a perfect day in Rome, although I don’t think it would really be possible to do that much in one day.
For Thirsty Thursday, we will be checking out my favorite places for amazing coffee, including what and how to order (yes, ordering coffee in Italy is an art form). I am not even going to touch on wine because I would be so far out of my comfort zone, but we might also talk about a little bit about water…
Look for another post on Thursday with a listing of my “must see” sights, as well as a few out of the way “secret spots”.
Friday, I will wrap up with links to some of my favorite blogs and web sites about Rome, as well as some book and movie recommendations.
Finally, I want to announce the winner of the giveaway…the “Macaron A Day” print, Mor Cosmetics “Macaron” lip balm, and David Lebovitz “The Sweet Life in Paris” book go to….
Elizabeth of Pretty Pink Tulips!!!
Congratulations, Elizabeth!! Please e-mail me your address and will get it in the mail to you right away. Thank you to everyone who entered!

Sandy,
We are finally back from our trip…not nearly as glamorous as the ones you are posting this week about Paris and Italy. Now, that I've checked Disney off the list, mama is going to plan a vacation that SHE wants to take! 🙂
I am so thrilled that I won your give away…and a SWEET one at that!!! Thank you, thank you!!!
xoxo Elizabeth
